About Product: Lavender stood between John and Morose. John held his blade up toward Morose, and Morose stood with his blade in hand but hung loosely at his side. Anxiety coursed through Lavender’s body and she shook. She was in shock. Morose was alive. He had stopped her wedding!
Famous author Liz Black has everything she could ever dream of—a successful short story in the local newspaper, a handsome husband, and a loyal and true best friend. But Liz is struggling to be content. An unexpected surprise means unexpected challenges that compete with her current level of success.
Meanwhile, Harriet, Liz’s sister, just landed her dream job at the local newspaper as an assistant editor, but her boss, who is enamored with her, won’t stop threatening her job if she doesn’t want to commit to him. How can she even consider him when she prefers the mysterious and seemingly perfect Isaac, who seems less inclined toward her? He is so unlike the unattractive and rude Mortimer and the awkward but kind Reverend!
The town of Pleasant View is utterly enamored with Elizabeth’s short story, where she last left readers on a cliffhanger in which heroine Lavender is about to marry her longtime beau, John, and the cunning pirate Captain Morose interrupts their nuptials. The ensuing love triangle and continuing tale of passion—on and off the pages of Elizabeth’s short story—will keep you on your toes as a lovely and fierce mermaid is thrown into the mix!
