This reprint features new forwards from the Dunn family and Richard Eyre.
Paul H. Dunn and Richard Eyre show that death is as indispensable to our eternal development as mortal life. The authors combine the words of prophets and quotations from historical figures who, trusting in God, saw
death as a friend, the natural and blessed passing from one state to another. Their words offer comfort and faith to anyone who has lost a loved one or has unanswered questions and fears about their own
The Birth That We Call Death brings comfort and even joy
I joined the Church 21 years ago, and within 3 months lost a very dear uncle (who had helped raise me) to cancer. He was only 49 years old. A friend gave me 'The Birth We Call Death'. It gave me a sense of comfort beyond description, and has continued to bring comfort, and even joy as I have experienced the death of other loved ones over the years. I have shared it with many in their times of trial and grief, including my sister (who is not a member of the Church) who is losing her husband to cancer. It has already blessed the lives of her entire family, including my brother-in-law. What a wonderful gift this book is for anyone struggling with losing, or the loss of a loved one.
When my father passed away very unexpectedly almost four years ago, it was extremely hard for my entire family. I always felt very close to my dad, looking to him for guidance all of the time. A friend recommended I read this book, and it changed so much in my life. Death is not really the end, but the beginning of an even greater journey. It gave me, and to this day STILL gives me, great comfort and joy to read through the amazing thoughts of Richard Dunn and others. I HIGHLY reccommend this book for anyone going throught the grieving process of any kind.
