About the Author:
Ann N. Madsen is an Isaiah scholar and poet who teaches ancient scripture at Brigham Young University. She received her MA degree from BYU in ancient studies with a minor in Hebrew. At present, she serves on the Sunday School general board of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and her late husband, Truman, have three children and a Navajo foster son, sixteen grandchildren and, at the moment, twenty-five great-grandchildren.
Shon D. Hopkin is an assistant professor of ancient scripture at BYU. Shon Hopkin received a PhD in Hebrew studies from the University of Texas at Austin with an emphasis on medieval literature. His course work focused on Hebrew, Arabic, and Spanish literature from medieval Spain. Shon has published and presented many papers on Jewish concepts, Isaiah, and the Dead Sea Scrolls. He edited a BYU Religious Studies Center and Deseret Book volume titled Abinadi. Shon also has a strong interest in interfaith outreach, understanding, and cooperation and served as president of the University of Texas Interfaith Council. He lives in Orem, UT with his wife, Jennifer, and four children.
