About Product: Frankfurt’s Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas market) dates back to the 14th century when it was referred to as a Dezembermarkt. This area of Frankfurt has been an important site since the Romans established a key center here in the first century, thus the name Romer or Romerberg for the square. Today it is one of Europe’s most popular Christkindlmarkts, drawing more than three million visitors from late November to just after Christmas each year. These community events are anticipated and loved by locals and tourists alike, featuring the arrival of Saint Nikolaus on December 6th and culminating with the appearance on Christmas Eve of the Christkindl, usually a fair-haired local youth whose angelic presence is representative of the arrival of the Christ Child. These winter fairs feature unique crafts, delicious delicacies, refreshing drinks and talented performers spread out around a tall, breathtaking Weihnachtsbaum (Christmas tree). It turns out that Tannenbaum is just a fir tree.
