Liken the Scriptures
See this fun and moving Bible story (1 Samuel 16-18) as you've never seen it before -- through they eyes of Amelia (Lauren Faber), a shy, modern-day girl who has her own personal Goliath to face -- a performance in her school's choir concert. To help build Amelia's confidence, her choir teacher (Angela Winston) tells her the story of another young person called upon to do something big - a boy by the name of David. David and Goliath is the fun and moving story of the well-known Biblical figure, King David as he takes on the mighty Philistine, Goliath. David and Goliath is enjoyable for the whole family. Thurl Bailey, recording artist, popular public speaker, sports broadcaster, and former NBA star, takes on the role of Goliath in this exciting family adventure. David and Goliath also introduces Spencer Forsey as David, and features all new original music. This episode of Liken is sure to be a favorite addition to your family’s DVD library!!!
These movies are so great. The music and acting just cracks me up and the kids have really enjoyed watching all of these. They have even learned a little about the scripture stories they have heard about through their lives in primary. I would definately recommend this a truly enjoyable show. Great for family home evenings.
I love the music in this Liken. I especially like the softer songs that David sings

If you can only buy one Liken DVD, get this one. Thurl Bailey is great as goliath. Spencer Forsey will melt the hearts of all the ladies watching. Dan Beck's voice will lift your heart and you'll be so glad you got this one!
This is so spiritual!!! Our family loves it!!!!!!!
This is one of the best Church DVD I have seen. My whole family loves it, they can't get enough of it. All the songs are well written and sang beautifully. We have watched it numerous times and we are still not sick of it. It's the first DVD my kids likes to watch after we come home from church. Even my husband likes to follow the subtitles so he can sing along to the songs. It is a DVD for all ages.
This video is far and away my family's favorite. I like 'I used to be like you' my children love 'I am Goliath' and my wife likes 'One small stone'. Actually, those are our favorites ,but we love all the songs. This particular dvd had great singers. Thurl Bailey, Alex Boye, the music teacher and Daniel Beck. I like everything Daniel Beck sings. David and the little girl were great too. That's a lot of talent. As a teacher I loved the theme that, the teacher in the video has to make a choice between her job or what she thinks is a worthy cause. A very relevant issue though a bit more political than I would have thought Liken would be. If you think Christmas should be taken from public schools then this probably isn't a movie for you . Everyone else will love it.
I absolutely loved this DVD!!! The music was wonderful...I loved every song!!! This DVD makes you want to reread the story and learn more. The comedy was fun but it also has touching moments.
Fantastic! Very well-done. We own both the soundtrack & the DVD. My kids have about worn out both. All of my children love them--including my 18 year old son and my 5 year old son.
My son-in-law is in the 4th Liken the Scriptures and when he told me he was going to be in it, I bought the 3rd one to see what they were like. I loved it and I can hardly wait to see the one he is in. I bought the 2nd one and I am trying to get the 1st one but they are out. Showed the 2nd one at our Family Home Evening for empty nesters and it was a big hit. A great way to teach not only children but adults also.
They've done it again!! This episode is just as good as the others. My 6 year old son and I watch it all the time. When we're not watching the DVD, we listen to the CD. We find ourselves singing these songs in public. My son does a GREAT Goliath!! He loves that song. Thanks for GREAT family entertainment. Keep them coming!
For younger children some of the songs seemed rather long and they lost interest; especially the first song by Goliath.
